![]() If properly attended ,it can be noticed that Francis Ford Coppola opened this watershed film with no title, no credits, nothing but “the jungle,” being NAPALMED accompanied by the distorted sound of the helicopter blades, establishing the tone of the movie effectively right away. I know its been mentioned but i just couldnt resist myself pouring out all on this masterpiece as i feel it deserves greater space. It has to be from the movie ,Apocalypse Now. What are the best opening scenes in film history? There's probably some kid somewhere wondering why there's a flying cucumber up there, but for me at least, great visual. This one feels like cheating a little bit because the various zeppelin logos used by Led Zeppelin are probably a bit confusing to the uninitiated due to the fact that zeppelins basically no longer exist, and when they do no one calls them zeppelins. There are icons, and then there's the select class of icons who have can be represented by a minimalistic caricature and have that be able to convey even more than a great photo could. Clearly this isn't approach a new artist can use, but for an established artist, if you can pull this off it's excellent. The logo now used for John Lennon is also quite excellent. Definitely one of the great names and great logos ever. The fact each type of object is loaded with meaning that allows for multiple yin/yang interpretations involving violence, romance, and freedom adds to it. Here you have a band with two concrete objects that are able to be represented pictorially and intertwined. ![]() This is true in both for artists and for companies. I'm inclined to prefer the logos which doen't need words to explain what they are. ![]() ![]() What are the most amazing band logos ever? ![]()
